Linear Algebra 1 (G5134)

Systems of linear equations arise in many problems from simple combinations of prices to solving (partial) differential equations numerically.
We will learn how to solve these systems and introduce many important concepts such as vectors, matrices and complex numbers.
You will study mathematical connections between algebra and geometry. You will understand the structure of linear systems of equations and learn how to apply basic techniques, such as Gaussian elimination, to solve them.

Contact hours and workload
This module is approximately 150 hours of work. This breaks down into about 42 hours of contact time and about 108 hours of independent study. The University may make minor variations to the contact hours for operational reasons, including timetabling requirements.
