Evaluating Special Educational Needs, Disability, Inclusion and Diversity (X6625)

Spring teaching

This module introduces you to the concepts of inclusive education nationally and internationally.

You’ll consider pedagogy and practice in relation to learners with a diverse range of needs. You’ll also develop an understanding of a variety of teaching strategies in relation to diverse learners. In addition, you’ll reflect on the suitability of these strategies for all learners.

Approaches cover differentiation, physical adaptations, specialist technologies and environmental adaptations.

Contact hours and workload

This module is approximately 150 hours of work. This breaks down into about 33 hours of contact time and about 117 hours of independent study. The University may make minor variations to the contact hours for operational reasons, including timetabling requirements.

We regularly review our modules to incorporate student feedback, staff expertise, as well as the latest research and teaching methodology. We’re planning to run these modules in the academic year 2022/23.
