Expanded Media: Forms and Practices (803P4A)

30 credits, Level 7 (Masters)

Autumn teaching

In this module, you’ll create digital artefacts whilst thinking how your chosen media and interface can expand the roles of audiences and their experiences. You'll be invited to work in collaborative and interdisciplinary ways, while asking questions like ‘what happens when older and newer forms of media interact?’.

It links theoretical readings and practical production – understanding research as a product of exploring, experimenting, documenting and reflecting. Themes focus on art and technology, such as avant-garde art movements, expanded cinema, DIY culture and audience participation.
