Spring and summer teaching

By studying this module, you gain knowledge and skills in a range of therapeutic techniques including:

  • Solution-Focused Therapy
  • behavioural activation
  • psychosocial interventions
  • wellness and recovery planning.

You learn how to distinguish between appropriate interventions and be able to apply them in.

As part of the module, you are introduced to a range of therapeutic evidence-based strategies and you develop your ability to apply them in practice.

Contact hours and workload

This module is approximately 150 hours of work. This breaks down into about 36 hours of contact time and about 114 hours of independent study. The University may make minor variations to the contact hours for operational reasons, including timetabling requirements.

We regularly review our modules to incorporate student feedback, staff expertise, as well as the latest research and teaching methodology. We’re planning to run these modules in the academic year 2022/23. However, there may be changes to these modules in response to COVID-19, staff availability, student demand or updates to our curriculum.
