Artificial Intelligence and Adaptive Systems Project (971G5)

60 credits, Level 7 (Masters)

Spring and summer teaching

You are given the chance to study an area you have already explored through an earlier module, or to study an individual area that interests you.

You'll build a substantial intelligent, evolutionary and/or adaptive system under the supervision of experienced faculty.

This will be on a relevant research topic of your choice, and normally involves a substantial working computer program, together with a dissertation showing a full understanding of the issues involved and a critical awareness of knowledge at the forefront of the area covered by the project.

100%: Written assessment (Project)

Contact hours and workload

This module is approximately 600 hours of work. This breaks down into about 600 hours of independent study. The University may make minor variations to the contact hours for operational reasons, including timetabling requirements.

This module is running in the academic year 2021/22. We also plan to offer it in future academic years. However, we are constantly looking to improve and enhance our courses. There may be changes to modules in response to student demand or feedback, changes to staff expertise or updates to our curriculum. We may also need to make changes in response to COVID-19. We’ll make sure to let our applicants know of material changes to modules at the earliest opportunity.
