Classic and Contemporary Social Psychology (306C8)

This module provides an introduction to and extended consideration of foundational theories, methods, and research in social psychology. The content is focused on areas from which many social psychological theories are developed and then applied to real world contexts (e.g. identity and the self), and areas of particular interest from a business perspective (e.g. group productivity, decision making, and leadership). Through lectures, discussion tasks, and independent study, students will explore classic and contemporary aspects of social psychology that are relevant in the real world.

Contact hours and workload
This module is approximately 150 hours of work. This breaks down into about 22 hours of contact time and about 128 hours of independent study. The University may make minor variations to the contact hours for operational reasons, including timetabling requirements.
