CBT Informed Interventions for Children and Young people (998C8)

15 credits, Level 7 (Masters)

Spring and summer teaching

By the end of the module students will have gained knowledge and skills in using graded exposure for specific anxiety difficulties, thought records and cognitive restructuring for low mood, adaptations for working with groups and lapse prevention.

Sessions will include theoretical teaching which will provide students with an overview of the topic area. Knowledge and skills will then be grounded and consolidated through individual and small group excercises, modelling and rehearsal using case examples in some of the clincal skills based sessions.

70%: Practical (Practical, Workshop)
30%: Seminar (Class)

Assessment

50%: Practical (Practical assessment)
50%: Written assessment (Report)

Contact hours and workload

This module is 150 hours of work. This breaks down into 36 hours of contact time and 114 hours of independent study.

This module is running in the academic year 2019/20. We also plan to offer it in future academic years.
