Aziz Foundation Scholarship (2020)

The Aziz Foundation is awarding 100% tuition fee Masters scholarships to five exceptional British Muslims lacking the financial means to complete postgraduate degrees, at the University of Sussex for the 2020-21 academic year. These scholarships aim to empower British Muslims to bring positive change to their communities and beyond. Thus, they are aimed at those who: • aspire to make a positive contribution to society – people who want to help others • view themselves as future British Muslim leaders – change makers

Eligibility

To be elgible for this scholarship you must:

  • Demonstrate active engagement in British Muslim communities
  • Demonstrate a long-term commitment to community/societal development
  • Be eligible for Home/EU fee status at the University
  • Aziz scholars are not eligible for any other Sussex funded scholarship

You are not eligible for this scholarship if you are going to study the following courses:

  • Postgraduate diplomas (including CPE Common Professional Examination)
  • MBA
  • Energy Policy MSc (online)
  • International Marketing MSc (online)
  • Sustainable Development MSc (online)
  • Corruption and Governance MA (online)
  • Corruption, Law and Governance LLM (delivered in Qatar)
  • Development Studies MA
  • Early Years Education (with Early Years Teacher Status) MA
  • Globalisation, Business and Development MA
  • Governance, Development and Public Policy MA
  • Power, Participation and Social Change MA
  • Poverty and Development MA
  • BSMS courses
  • PGCE courses
  • Schools direct teaching courses
  • Any Masters funded by the research councils (e.g. those receiving ESRC 1+3 funding)

Up to 5 scholarships are available.

How to apply

The successful applicants will be selected through an interview process run by the Aziz Foundation. The scholarship will cover tuition fees only at the University of Sussex. Applicants do not need to hold an offer prior to applying. However, please note that admission to the programme will depend on Sussex’s separate admissions process.
