Women and the History of International Thought (2018)

The PhD researcher will recover and evaluate women's contributions to the International Relations discipline in the United States, from the end of World War I until 1979. Although disciplinary history is a growing field, there are currently no histories of women in the IR discipline. Hence, the PhD will address a significant gap by covering IR's most influential location. The PhD researcher will undertake nine months of research training and gaining knowledge of American IR history and theory and women's intellectual history and undertake six months research in the United States examining US-based university archives and personal papers, and conducting interviews.

What you get

Annual maintenance stipend of £14,553 for up to four years.

Type of award

Postgraduate research award.

Applicants should have an outstanding record (ideally, though not necessarily) in the field of International Relations or History at both undergraduate and MA level and be resident in the UK/EU.
