Eligibility
- Who is eligible
To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:
- Be graduating from Sussex in 2023 with a First Class or Upper Second Class Bachelors degree
- Have accepted an offer of a place on an eligible Masters, either part time or full time, to start in September 2023
- Who isn’t eligible
You are not eligible for this scholarship if you:
- Are applying for a Masters at a university that is not at the University of Sussex
- Are progressing into the final year of an integrated Masters at Sussex
- Studied at a University of Sussex partner institution (such as BIMM)
- Studied at a UK University’s overseas campus or external programme
- Already hold another University of Sussex scholarship (i.e. Sussex India Scholarship)
- Are studying one of the Excluded courses listed below:
- Excluded courses
You are not eligible for this scholarship if you are going to study any of the following:
- Certificates and Diplomas (including PGCE)
- Courses at Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS)
- Development Studies MA
- Early Years Education (with Early Years Teacher status)
- Globalisation, Business and Development MA
- Governance, Development and Public Policy MA
- Power, Participation and Social Change MA
- Poverty and Development MA
- Degrees in Social work (if receiving an NHS bursary)
- Online courses
- Schools direct teaching courses
- Masters funded by the research councils (e.g. ESRC 1+3 funding)

The scholarship is an automatic fee reduction, applied when you register for your chosen Masters in September.
International students with an offer to study in the University of Sussex Business School will be able to combine this award with the Business School International Masters Award (2023). International students with an offer to study in the school of Engineering & Informatics will be able to combine this award with the Engineering & Informatics International Masters Award (2023).

Scholarship recipients will see confirmation of the scholarship when you register for your chosen Masters in September.
If you require a visa to study at Sussex, the scholarship and fee reduction will be included on your CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Study), provided by Admissions for your visa application.
Terms and conditions
Marking boycott
We are aware that some 2023 finalists will be impacted by the UCU marking and assessment boycott. If you are expecting your final classification to be delayed, we will apply the award once your degree classification is confirmed as a First or Upper Second Class. Our Student Accounts office will adjust your tuition fee payments ahead of the award being applied, if necessary, please contact them at studentaccounts@sussex.ac.uk to request this.
