Our information desk

Our Information Desk is here to answer any questions, big or small, and point you in the right direction to get the help you need.

What to expect

You can expect to be greeted by a friendy face and someone with a wealth of information at their fingertips. 

At our Information Desk we can, for example:

  • book appointments
  • answer general questions and queries
  • clarify the process for Exceptional Circumstances claims
  • administer VC Loan applications and Late Maintenance Loans 
  • direct you to other sources of help and information

There is never any need for you to disclose personal information at our desk. We recognise that it is in the public space. You can give a brief outline and ask us to make an appointment where you can be seen, one-to-one, in a private room.

It rarely takes long to get an appointment. Sometimes appointments are available on the same day. (Don’t forget, you can also book via your Study Direct page.)

Find us

Our Information Desk is on the ground floor of Bramber House. We are at the north end of the building (the opposite end to the Co-op). Look for our welcoming pink and orange banners outside.

Our desk is run by staff from across the teams of the SLC: Administrators, Advisors, Managers and members of our Funding Team, we all take our turn at assisting with your enquiries.
