Canvas is the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) used at Sussex for students to engage with their module content. As educators, you may be expected to add or update content on Canvas, or to use the platform to communicate with students. This session provides the basic information needed to perform these fundamental tasks.
Overview
This session will show how to carry out basic editing of Canvas pages, and fundamental communications with students.
Participants will have the opportunity to practice making changes to Canvas pages, sending communications via Announcements, and publishing Canvas content.
Audience
This session will be of value to:
- Academic staff who are new to using canvas
- New doctoral tutors expected to use Canvas for teaching
- Any existing teaching staff who would like a refresher on the basics of using Canvas

- This session assumes that you already have the knowledge to create your own resources ready to upload to Canvas
