Biography
My undergraduate work was at the University of Ottawa in Ontario, Canada, where I developed a passion for variationist sociolinguistics under the tutelage of Stephen Levey. My MA is from Memorial University of Newfoundland in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador (also in Canada), where I further developed my skills as a variationist and discovered sociophonetics, with Gerard Van Herk and Paul De Decker. I moved to New Zealand for my PhD to work on variation and gender/sexuality with Miriam Meyerhoff and Sasha Calhoun. I arrived at Sussex in Autumn 2017.
Role
I am a Lecturer in English Language and Linguistics in the School of English. I teach both undergraduate and MA-level modules, and I supervise postgraduate research.
