The White Pube
Wednesday 30 March 12:00 until 12:45
University of Sussex Campus : Attenborough Centre for Creative Arts
Part of the series: Sussex Festival of Ideas

We are delighted to bring Zarina Muhammad, one half of irreverent cultural critics The White Pube, to the Sussex Festival of Ideas.
The White Pube started in 2015 in response to what Muhammad and Gabrielle de la Puente saw as the emaciated condition of a lot of art writing at that time (‘exhibition reviews…were boringggg, said nothing, just bad chat by middle class white men’). They started to write instead about how art made them feel, producing what has been described as 'embodied criticism'. In recent years they have started to write about the wider creative industry, to rally for better conditions, fairer spaces, and more transparency. The talk will focus on The White Pube’s work as writers, critics, artists and agitators.
