Academic Promotions Process 2023

All staff who wish to be considered for promotion through the Academic Promotion process should ensure their application form (and associated documentation) should be submitted to the firstname.lastname@example.org inbox by the 13th March 2023.
Guidance notes, key documents and forms to assist in the preparation of your application can be found on the Promotion webpages. Please read this information carefully as applications that do not follow the guidelines may not be considered.
FAQ’s have been produced and these can all be found on the advice and guidance page for further assistance.

Please submit all applications to firstname.lastname@example.org by 9am on Monday 13 March 2023.
An outline timeline of the process is:
Monday 30th January 2023 – Academic Promotions Applications Open
Monday 13th March 2023 – Academic Promotions Applications Close
Monday 27th March – Friday 21st April 2023 – First Panel Meeting of the School Promotions Committee (SPC)
Monday 24th April - Friday 28th April 2023 – Outcome Letters sent following First Panel Meeting
Monday 12th June 2023 – Education and Scholarship Panel Meeting
Monday 10th July – Friday 28th July 2023 – Second Panel Meeting of the School Promotions Committee (SPC)
Monday 31st July - Friday 4th August 2023 – Outcome Letters sent following Second Panel Meeting
Early September 2023 – The Academic Promotions, Advancements and Titles Committee (APATC) meeting to confirm promotions to Reader and Professor
Mid-Late September 2023 - Outcome Letters sent following APATC Meeting for Reader and Professor
The effective date for all promotions will be 1 October 2023.
All successful Reader and Professor promotions will be processed in line with the November 2023 pay-run, and back-dated accordingly.
