About us

Founded in 2011, the Centre for the Study of Corruption is located within one of the world’s leading research universities, the University of Sussex. It is the UK's foremost academic centre dedicated  to objective and independent interdisciplinary research, policy impact and teaching on corruption and the anti-corruption measures necessary to combat it. We use world class innovative academic approaches to understand and track the nature of corrupt practices, as well as to test the effectiveness of anti-corruption measures.

Research

We undertake award-winning, rigorous and innovative academic research into pressing corruption issues. Our team are experts in their fields which cover core concerns such as corruption in politics, business and sport, as well as specialists in particular geographies, particularly Europe, China, Africa and the Caribbean. 

Courses and Teaching

With our educational credentials and expertise, the University of Sussex is uniquely placed to train the next generation of anti-corruption campaigners and professionals to continue this vital work in our own countries. Policy

We work with a number of governments and international organisations to contribute our expertise on how to tackle corruption. We monitor and investigates the effectiveness of anti-corruption tools employed world wide, and give practical advice to those responsible for creating the new policies which help make our world a fairer place.
