Biography
Sunit Bagree is communications manager in the School of Global Studies at the University of Sussex. He is also a member of Global Justice Now's Council (board), a member of Human Rights Watch's London Committee, a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and an associate fellow of Advance HE. He has worked for a variety of civil society organisations in Europe, Africa and Asia on a wide range of global issues. He has been a guest speaker at SOAS University of London. His research has been cited in the UK and European Parliaments and by the United Nations (UN) and World Bank, and his work has been featured by the BBC, Financial Times and Guardian, among many others. He completed his undergraduate degree in Economics and Geography at University College London. In addition, he holds an MA in Conflict Resolution from Lancaster University and an LLM in Human Rights Law from the University of Nottingham, completing both postgraduate dissertations in conjunction with UN agencies. Most recently, he was awarded a PGDip with Distinction in Voluntary Sector Management by City, University of London’s Bayes Business School.
Role
Sunit mainly works on two action research projects funded by the Global Challenges Research Fund: Inclusive Urban Infrastructure and Protracted Displacement Economies. He is also available to mentor postdoctoral researchers in relation to communications and influencing.
