We are looking for outstanding individuals with a first class degree classification. If you think you have got what it takes to operate a trapped-ion quantum computer, develop quantum computing microchips, develop a practical quantum simulation engine or develop portable quantum sensor, please get in touch. It\u2019s only an hour away from Central London by train and 30 minutes from London Gatwick, one of the UK&#8217;s major international airports.<\/p>\n<p>Get a flavour of the city with our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sussex.ac.uk\/study\/student-life\/brighton\/top-10-things-to-do-as-a-student-in-brighton\">top ten things to do as a student in Brighton<\/a> or read about some of Brighton&#8217;s many attractions below.<\/p>\n<h2>Brighton beach<\/h2>\n<p>One of the top-10 city beach destinations in the world (<em>Lonely Planet<\/em>), <a href=\"http:\/\/www.visitbrighton.com\/things-to-do\/beach-life\">Brighton\u2019s seafront<\/a> is the ideal place to soak up the sun in the summer, or take bracing walks to clear your head on winter days. Along the prom you\u2019ll find caf\u00e9s, bars and nightclubs, as well as beach and water sports.<\/p>\n<p><img src=\"https:\/\/www.sussex.ac.uk\/wcm\/assets\/media\/original\/44055.jpg\" alt=\"Brighton beach\" width=\"100%\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>The Lanes<\/h2>\n<p>The Lanes is a maze of alleyways crammed with quirky boutiques, antique jewellery shops and tempting caf\u00e9s, bars and restaurants. <a href=\"https:\/\/you-well.co.uk\/north-laine\/\">North Laine<\/a> has one of the largest selections of independent shops on England&#8217;s South Coast and is a perfect spot to grab a coffee and watch the world go by.<\/p>\n<p><img src=\"https:\/\/www.sussex.ac.uk\/wcm\/assets\/media\/original\/44056.jpg\" alt=\"Brighton Lanes\" width=\"100%\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Nightlife<\/h2>\n<p>When the sun goes down Brighton comes into its own. Ranked by students as the top university in the south of England for student nightlife (<i>Which? University Student Survey 2016<\/i>), Brighton has some of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.designmynight.com\/brighton\/clubs\/best-brighton-clubs\">best club nights in the country<\/a>, along with fantastic pubs, restaurants, independent cinemas and a great live music scene.<\/p>\n<h2>Music<\/h2>\n<p>Music is a way of life in Brighton. Walk around the city and you might bump into legends past and present who\u2019ve found a home in this unique location. With an estimated 500 bands in the city, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.songkick.com\/metro_areas\/24554-uk-brighton\">gigs every night of the week<\/a>, you\u2019re bound to find something for you.<\/p>\n<p>Internationally, the city is known for <a href=\"http:\/\/greatescapefestival.com\/\">The Great Escape<\/a>, the UK\u2019s leading showcase for new music, featuring hundreds of bands in over 30 venues in a three-day event.<\/p>\n<p><img src=\"https:\/\/www.sussex.ac.uk\/wcm\/assets\/media\/original\/40200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"100%\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Culture<\/h2>\n<p>Throughout May the city hosts England\u2019s biggest arts festival. <a href=\"http:\/\/brightonfestival.org\/\">Brighton Festival<\/a> features theatre, music, art and visual media by leading names from around the world. And all year round there are plays, art exhibitions, gigs and events at many of the theatres, pubs, museums and galleries in the city.<\/p>\n<p>Brighton is a hub for the performing arts. Venues range from small theatres above pubs to The Theatre Royal, featuring West End productions.<\/p>\n<p>Brighton is also home to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.picturehouses.com\/cinema\/Duke_Of_Yorks\">Duke of York\u2019s Picture House<\/a>, an art house cinema, which is claimed to be the oldest in the country. Whether you want to dine in style or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sussex.ac.uk\/study\/new-students\/sussex-student-life\/best-cheap-eats-in-brighton\">grab a cheap deal<\/a>, take afternoon tea or try an award-winning curry, you\u2019ll find something to suit your taste and your budget.
