Art and the City Part One (V4048A)

15 credits, Level 5

Autumn teaching

This module is concerned with the physical and social contexts for the production and consumption of works of visual art. It is built around specific geographical case studies.

Towards the end of the Spring term, all Art History single and joint-honours students go on a compulsory study trip to a major European centre of art, usually Rome. Costs vary each year but in the past have been between £350 and £425. The University may subsidise the cost in some circumstances and the department will assist students seeking extra financial support for the trip. We recognise it may not always be possible for all students to attend.

100%: Lecture

100%: Coursework (Essay)
