Cognitive Psychology (C8551)

Autumn teaching

The module will comprise twice-weekly one-hour lectures and four two-hour practicals. The lectures will provide a broad coverage of Cognitive Psychology topics, touching on perception, attention, memory, language, and thinking. Lectures will include material on individual differences where appropriate. The practicals will involve participation in experiments designed by researchers in Cognitive Psychology at the University; critical reflection on and investigation of the problems and advantages involved with different approaches to investigating cognition; and peer feedback and discussion on proposed research designs.

Contact hours and workload

This module is 150 hours of work. This breaks down into 30 hours of contact time and 120 hours of independent study.
