Spring teaching

This module aims to:

  • provide an understanding of the molecular mechanisms underlying the acquisition, processing and storage of information by the nervous system;
  • provide an insight into the complexity of the interaction between the regulated expression of genetic information and cellular/synaptic mechanisms;
  • provide a contemporary understanding of novel regulatory mechanisms in the context of neural function and plasticity.

You will attend all teaching sessions that will be delivered as a part of the C1121 module. Based on the content of the module, you will decide upon a topic to research in more depth. You are expected to search and then critically evaluate appropriate research literature. Also, you will need to demonstrate your ability to analyse the limitations of the research and identify possible recommendations for further studies and for practice.

Contact hours and workload

This module is 150 hours of work. This breaks down into 38 hours of contact time and 112 hours of independent study.
