Click and Collect

Covid-19 update: On 4th January the Government announced a return to national lockdown.
In response, the Library remains open but for essential use only. As one of the buildings at the University that has IT facilties, access is restricted to:

  • those with an essential requirement to access IT facilities which they cannot do from their home or residence

  • those unable to study in their own home or residence

You must wear a face covering and observe 2 metre social distancing at all times.
If you need help using any of our services, contact us via Library chat, social media @sussexlibrary or email library@sussex.ac.uk.

Please use Library Search to locate the item you require and, if it is showing as available, request the item by logging in and then clicking 'Request'. We regret that it is not possible to request material which is currently on loan.

You will receive an email giving you collection instructions. Once you have received the confirmation email, you will be able to collect the requested items between 10am and 11pm, Monday to Friday and 10am-5pm, Saturday to Sunday. Requests should be ready to collect within 24 hours but please do wait for the email confirmation.

You will need to bring your University ID card to collect the items that you have requested. A step-free option is available.

It will also be possible to return items either through the book sorter or in the book drop at the north entrance (near IDS).

Social distancing is in place throughout the Library and we ask you to wear a face covering at all times, unless you are exempt. Please see our Code of Conduct for further details.
