In this session we examined the role that SDG’s and partnerships play in overcoming the challenges of working globally and sustainably.

Session Two: Internationalisation and the Global Sustainability challenge: Student Initiatives
Friday 26 June 2020
In the first part of this session, students from Victoria University of Wellington, University of Sussex and University of California, Santa Cruz, shared a video and their reflections from debating the topic of Internationalisation and the Global Sustainability Challenge.
In the second part, recent alumni from Sussex reflected on some examples of their own efforts to be sustainable global citizens.
Session Three: The Role of Universities as Agents of Change
Friday 26 June 2020
In this session, sector leaders with global expertise examined how higher education stakeholders balance the benefits of internationalisation with the challenges of sustainability by answering the following questions:
- Is a green international strategy possible?
- How do we enhance students’ global experience on campus?
- How do we build global North-South higher education partnerships that deliver sustainable and long term change?

This session explored the role that Transnational Education (TNE) plays and should play in support of the higher education sustainability agenda and reviewed considerations of TNE as a vehicle of change in internationalisation.
