Long COVID Staff Support Network launched
Posted on behalf of: EDI Unit
Last updated: Thursday, 21 April 2022

We are pleased to be launching a Long COVID Staff Support Network in response to requests from members of our staff community.
The Network will provide a safe space for staff who have either been diagnosed with Long COVID or who suspect that they may have Long COVID following infection with the COVID-19 virus.
In this space, which will initially be hosted via Microsoft Teams, staff will be able to connect with each other, share helpful resources and provide peer support. The Network will also provide a mechanism for the provision of feedback to the Staff Disability Network, ensuring that the University is fully conversant with, and understanding of the needs of our Long COVID staff community.
The first official meeting of the Network will take place on Wednesday 27 April from 2pm to 3pm and will recur on a monthly basis thereafter. Once the network is established alternative meeting formats, including in-person meetings can be discussed by group members. If you would like to join the network or have any questions about the network please e-mail the EDI Unit (edi.unit@sussex.ac.uk).
A reminder also that Heales, our Occupational Health provider, will be hosting a Long COVID Webinar on the 27 April at 1pm, talking about awareness of the effects of Long COVID and how colleagues and managers can best support those who may be suffering. Details of the webinar and how to sign up can be found here Long Covid Webinar Tickets, Wed 27 Apr 2022 at 13:00 | Eventbrite
