Title Influence of seawater on growth and organic constituents of Acanthus ilicifolius linn

Abstract In the present work, influence of seawater (0 to 100%) on growth and organic constituents of Acanthus ilicifolius show that protein and starch increased with increasing salinity upto 50% of seawater, thereafter it is gradually reduced. Amino acid and total sugar content decreased with increasing salinity upto 50%, beyond,which it gradually increased. Proline increased upto the extreme level of seawater (100%).
