Title Gradient analysis of the common species in the saline and marshy habitats in the Nile Delta
Source Feddes Repertorium
Abstract The present study aims at evaluating the behavior of 12 wild species (Halocnemum strobilaceum, Salsola kali, Arthrocnemum glaucum, Phragmites australis, Cynodon dactylon, Polypogon monspeliensis, Salicornia fruticosa, Suaeda pruinosa, Zygophyllum album, Trigonella maritima, Chenopodium murale, Launaea nudicaulis), distributed at the saline and marshy habitats in the North Delta region, in relation to some soil variables. Some species have significant simple correlation with certain soil variables (salinity, CaCO-3, nitrogen and organic matter). Some other species have bimodel behavior along some soil gradients, while all the examined species have monomodal behavior along, at least, one soil gradient.
