    • Miscellaneous notes Miscellaneous notes: Leaves from H. littoralis collected at a hypersaline and dry site on the Daintree River contained very low levels of sodium… ca. 5% of the contents of local Rhizophoraceae species (unpublished data of J Cheeseman) making it one of the few actual sodium excluders in the halophytes.
