Talk: conservation of Andean forests and ecosystems

Speaker: Dr Ana Mariscal (Cambugán Foundation, Ecuador)
Join us for an Ecology & Evolution seminar around biodiversity and conservation in tropical Andean ecosystems, delivered by long-term School of Life Science partner and SSRP collaborator in Ecuador, Dr Ana Mariscal.
Dr Ana Mariscal from the Cambugán Foundation is a sustainability researcher and an active participatory conservationist of Andean ecosystems. She also regularly helps with teaching tropical botany in theTropical Cloud Forest Ecology & Conservation field course in the School of Life Sciences. She is a core partner on many Sussex research collaborations, including on SSRP-funded projects with Dr Fiona Mathews ("Ecosystem services, tropical agriculture, forestry and habitat regeneration provided by bats") and Prof Mika Peck and Dr Maria Clara Castellanos ("The tropical Andean climate and biodiversity observatory, community resilience through research").
This two-part seminar will provide an overview of her work and open up discussions and opportunities for future collaboration.
