Job description

A unique opportunity has arisen at the University of Sussex where we are seeking to appoint a University Chaplain/Lead Faith Advisor with excellent communications skills, emotional intellect and pastoral skills with knowledge of wellbeing provision within a University setting.  The individual will act as the Lead Faith Advisor and University Chaplain, and will have demonstrable experience working successfully with individuals of diverse cultural and faith backgrounds to include nationality, race and ethnicity, gender and sexual orientation.  Compassion and understanding, collaboration and the desire to be part of a unique and diverse community, you will be motivated by the opportunity to bring people together in safe spaces to explore questions and nurture curiosity. 

Key Working relationships: Academic staff; University of Sussex Students’ Union (USSU)and other Professional Services including Housing services, Finance, External agencies, including: the Health Centre, local health and social care providers, and national charities.
