An opportunity has arisen for a Student Management Information and Data Officer to join the Student Systems and Records Office (SSRO) at the University of Sussex. We are seeking a highly numerate and analytical individual who, ideally, has an understanding of the HE sector or a similar service environment.
Under the supervision of the Senior Student Management Information and Data Officer, the post holder is responsible for the production of routine and ad hoc management information and to assist in the preparation and submission for a number external statutory reporting. The role holder will work closely with colleagues from the Academic Registry, the academic schools and Information Technology Services.
If you have experience of managing data and are enthusiastic about working with students systems to deliver reporting and operational requirements, then this could be the ideal role for you. You will support the preparation and submission of a number of external returns, therefore, previous exposure to any of the following statutory returns is desirable:
Student Loan Company (SLC)
- Student HESA return including NSS
- HESA ITT return
- Key Information Set (KIS) now Unistats.
You will need to work effectively as part of the SSRO team but will be expected to take responsibility for delivering reporting and ensuring that priorities are met. Attention to details as well as the ability to understand complex academic rules and regulations are essential.
