Hours: Full time or part time hours considered up to a maximum of 1.0 FTE. Requests for flexible working options will be considered (subject to business need).
Contract: Fixed term until 28 Feb 2021 with the possibility of extension or permanency
Salary: Starting at £25,941 to £30,046 per annum

An exciting opportunity has arisen at the University of Sussex for an experienced Communications professional to take over management of the Sussex Sustainability Research Programme (SSRP) – the University’s ambitious and dynamic £3m Strategic Research Programme in sustainability research. The post is full time, fixed-term until February 2021 but with a possibility of extension or permanency.
This exciting role sits within the University of Sussex Business School and is line-managed by the SSRP Manager. The post-holder will be responsible for overall communications support for the Programme, including day-to-day comms tasks as well as more strategic, long-term comms planning. The role is also responsible for supporting the Programme’s vital impact and engagement work, acting as the primary facilitator of engagement opportunities across the Programme and facilitating the achievement of impact arising out of the Programme’s funded research projects.
The post holder will work collaboratively with the SSRP Manager, Research Support Officer and other colleagues as required to help implement the strategic vision of the Programme, and in so doing support the University’s ambition to create a world-leading research programme providing science to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
