Job description

We wish to appoint a supervisor for evening and weekend services in our busy academic library. The postholder will be responsible for running library services, training & supervising a team of library assistants and security of the building & stock. 

Applicants should have a flexible, proactive approach to work. Good team working skills and previous supervisory experience in a customer oriented environment are essential. Experience of working in a library would be an advantage.

Opening hours are reviewed on an annual basis, so hours of work may alter for future academic sessions. Currently they are:

8 hours per week – term & vacation plus 4 hours for one bank holiday in May

Term time, Easter and Winter vacations

Evening (Tuesday) 15.00-19.00

Sunday 13.00-17.00

Summer vacation

Evening (Tuesday) 16.00-20.00

Sunday 15.00-19.00
