Job description

The Experimental Particle Physics group at the University of Sussex seeks to appoint a talented and creative researcher with strong computational and experimental skills to join the Sussex team working on the ATLAS experiment. The successful candidate will spend the majority of their time working on measurements of top quark production in association with heavy (W/Z/Higgs) bosons. In addition, the post holder will become involved at some level in the ongoing commitments at Sussex of Inner Detector or Electron/Photon triggers operation and development.

The post is funded for 24 months initially, with the possibility of renewal subject to the availability of funding. Candidates are expected to hold, or be close to obtaining, a doctorate in experimental particle physics, with experience of research at a large-scale collider experiment.
