Hours: full time or part time hours considered up to a maximum of 36.5 hours per week. Requests for flexible working options will be considered (subject to business need).
Contract: Fixed term initially until 30/09/2021
Salary: starting at £29,515 and rising to £33,199 per annum

The School of Life Sciences is at the forefront of research in the biological sciences in the UK, coming in the top 10 in the REF 2014.
A Grade 6 Research Assistants/Technician post is available in the laboratories of Prof. Laurence Pearl FRS and Dr. Chris Prodromou, to support their structural and functional studies of the HSP90 molecular chaperone system.
The successful applicant will be responsible for recombinant expression and purification of proteins and complexes, using bacterial, yeast, insect and mammalian cell-culture, and will participate in structural and functional analysis of these using a variety of techniques.
Applicants must have a relevant first degree, practical experience of molecular biology and/or protein biochemistry, and be able to work independently and collaboratively as required.
