Salary: starting at £33,199 and rising to £39,609 per annum

We are seeking to recruit a REF Impact Officer to lead on the development of impact case studies for the University’s submission to the next Research Excellence Framework, REF2021.
The REF is an exercise of critical importance for the University’s academic reputation and financial position, and the impact case studies are worth 25% of the total outcome for the submission.
The postholder will work closely with researchers to write, collate and refine a set of compelling and well-evidenced narratives for submission, whilst working effectively within a closely-integrated institutional team responsible for delivery of the REF2021 submission.
The postholder will also support the gathering of underpinning evidence to demonstrate the claims made in the case studies, co-ordinate and deliver training for the academic community on how to create and successfully demonstrate the impact of research, and act as the University’s expert advisor on the REF2021 rules as they relate to impact.
The successful candidate will have excellent professional skills in communication and editorial work, with a track record of producing effective material for both generalist and specialist audiences, and with a detailed understanding of REF policy.
