Job description

Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts (ACCA) is a multi-disciplinary performing and creative arts hub for the University of Sussex and the wider community. The centre presents a public programme of music, film, dance, performance, installation, festivals, discussion and debate.

The refurbishment of this Grade II* listed building, including brand new technical facilities, has provided a major venue on campus for students, staff and the wider community.

The post holder will be responsible for delivering world-class events at ACCA in collaboration with internal and external users. S/he will lead the ACCA’s production and technical team to deliver all production and technical aspects of events and performances in ACCA and its associated spaces.

The role requires excellent organisation; advanced planning skills; solution-focused problem solving; diplomacy; patience; resilience; excellent management skills and team spirit.

The successful applicant will have excellent up-to-date knowledge and experience of working with lighting, sound, stage platforms, rigging, AV systems and equipment for production, including their operation and control systems. S/he will be heavily involved in every aspect of the delivery of events and performances, and therefore will have at least three years’ experience of supporting users with initial risk assessments, and logistically planning and supporting the technical requirements of events and their associated technical and production needs.
