Job description

This vacancy is only open to those currently employed by the University.

The Sussex Careers and Employability Team supports students to develop their employability from their arrival at the University to graduation and beyond. Support includes a rich range of opportunities to connect to employers and gain real world experience. One such opportunity is a year-long placement. At Sussex, every undergraduate student has the opportunity to undertake a year-long placement between Year 2 and their final year.

The Placements & Work Experience Officer supports the Placements Manager in the management of the University’s placements function. Responsibilities include supporting students to prepare for placements, delivery and development of the processes and systems that support placements, and liaison with placement officers in academic schools.

We are seeking candidates with experience of placement processes and of using technology effectively to manage data and statistical output. Candidates must have strong organisational and communication skills, a demonstrable commitment to customer service and a ‘can do’ attitude.

Please contact Claire Colburn, Placements Manager, at cp78@sussex.ac.uk, for informal enquiries.

The University of Sussex values the diversity of its staff and students and we welcome applicants from all backgrounds.
