Job description

The University has an exciting opportunity for an intelligent, articulate and highly organised individual interested in job-sharing the Postgraduate Admissions Officer role and leading the University’s postgraduate admissions process.

The successful candidate will work alongside the existing Postgraduate Admissions Officer (also 0.6 FTE) to manage the University’s postgraduate admissions process and the team of thirteen staff within the section.

The successful applicant will be highly organised and able to demonstrate leadership skills and the ability to multi-task. You will have excellent existing knowledge of admissions processes, ideally in a postgraduate context.

You will need to be patient, friendly, welcoming and possess excellent communication skills, be computer literate and be able to demonstrate close attention to detail. You will also need a good understanding of UK, other EU and international qualifications, and knowledge of UKVI and Tier 4 student visa processes.

You should have a strong record of excellent ‘customer service’ and enjoy working with people from across the globe. It would be helpful if you had some knowledge of fee status classification and postgraduate funding.

It is normal to appoint at the first point of the salary scale.

Please note that the pattern of work in Postgraduate Admissions means there are some holiday restrictions during the summer prior to the start of the academic year.
