Job description

This vacancy is only open to those currently employed by the University. 

An opportunity has arisen in the University Library for a Grade 3 Library Assistant. The post is full time and permanent.

The successful candidate will be based in the Learning and Teaching Support team of the Library’s Academic Services section. The Learning and Teaching Support team is responsible for library provision for students on undergraduate and taught postgraduate courses.

The successful candidate will support the processing of reading lists, including selection and purchase, using the Talis Aspire reading list system.

The role will also involve answering enquiries via instant messaging, email and in person at the Library’s Information Hub.

Applicants must have good oral and written communications skills, good team working skills, the ability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines and the ability to deal tactfully with staff and students.
