The Strategy & Marketing Department is looking to recruit a full-time faculty member at the Lecturer, Senior Lecturer or Reader level in the area of International Business.
For the Lecturership candidate:
We are looking for an individual with an exciting research programme that either complements or adds to the interests of our current faculty including market entry strategy, cross cultural behavior, globalisation, internationalisation, area studies, multi-national enterprises, supply chain, ethics, and international entrepreneurship and innovation.
We welcome candidates from all ontological (from positivist to critical) and methodological approaches (behavioural, theoretical, qualitative and quantitative).
The University of Sussex has a strong tradition of policy work and outreach and we therefore welcome applications from candidates with potential to have a policy and/or practical impact.
The successful candidate will be an engaged early-career academic who enjoys working in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment and shows enthusiasm for collaborating with colleagues within marketing and across disciplines.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate a clear research plan and that their research has publication potential at the highest level (ABS list 4/4*).
They should have experience in teaching at either the undergraduate and postgraduate level, as well as a preparedness to teach specialist and core of international business subjects (Global Strategy, International Business Environment, International Strategy).
The candidate for the Senior Lecturer or Reader is expected to:
- Lead research in international business including projects targeted at leading international journals and potentially underpinned by external collaboration and funding from relevant funding bodies and commercial and philanthropic organisations;
- Play a prominent role in delivering excellent undergraduate and postgraduate education in international business or related areas within the Department;
- Lead enterprise, engaging external collaboration and support and funding from commercial and other clients;
- Mentoring junior colleagues and (where relevant) leading research teams, and
- Through the academic and operational leadership of the Department and wider School enhance the reputation of University of Sussex externally, both within the UK and internationally.
