The Department of Engineering and Design at the University of Sussex is looking to appoint a Lecturer in Engineering with expertise in materials engineering and manufacturing technologies. The Department is a part of the School of Engineering and Informatics, which delivers world-class research and high-quality teaching in automotive and mechanical engineering, electrical and electronic engineering, product design as well as in computer science.
The successful candidate will have research interests in the fields of materials engineering, including biomaterials and materials for energy applications and manufacturing technologies. In the short term, they will join one of our research centres or groups, depending of their expertise. In the long term, we are keen to strengthen research in the area of manufacturing and materials by establishing a new research group. We encourage applicants who see themselves able to contribute to research activity in the fields of materials engineering and manufacturing to apply even if their research interests are not listed above.
The successful applicant will be responsible for devising and delivering teaching for the Department in our automotive, mechanical and mechanical with robotics courses.
