Job description

We are looking for a Service Desk Co-Ordinator to join the Service Centre Team in IT Services.

This is a 0.5 FTE post and a unique opportunity for the successful applicant to combine their technical knowledge with effective communication and interpersonal skills in a client facing role.

You will be working on a busy Service Desk dealing with a variety of enquiries from staff, students and visitors which may be made via the telephone, self-service, email or in-person. You should have strong verbal communication skills and an excellent telephone manner. 

The successful candidate will also have a proven record of diagnosing and troubleshooting problems and finding solutions to ever changing technical issues. In particular you should have experience of resolving hardware, software and connectivity issues on a range of Windows, Apple and Android devices, tablets and computers.

You will be well organised, self-motivated, with the ability to communicate technical information to staff and students who have varying levels of IT awareness, and should enjoy being part of a client facing technical support team.

Staff in this role will work 18.25 hours across the week. The post holder will be required to participate in the rota to cover out of hours service, weekend, minimum service days and bank holidays as required.
