An opportunity has arisen for two talented and motivated individuals to join the University of Sussex’s IT Business Relations team. This is an exciting time for the University as it embarks on an ambitious digital transformation journey that puts the needs of its students, staff and research at its forefront. The IT Business Partner is a key role acting as an engagement agent between IT Services and our customers across the university.
Your main responsibility will be to understand the needs of your customers and the opportunities and challenges they are facing, to open up discussions and get to the heart of the demand. This role supports the wider management teams in the exploration, scoping and business case development of new technology initiatives.
You will be able to understand business needs in relation to technology and undertake the scoping and definition stages of new projects. You will help identify and define the business benefits of key ITS project outcomes and interventions aligned to business change outcomes. You will provide advice and counsel to working groups on the scoping of technology-supported initiatives.
You will act as a communications partner to help business areas understand the changes involved with technology change and build their confidence to deal with it through coaching and appropriate interventions. You will support the delivery, adoption and acceptance by the customer of any IT policy and technology related change.
You will undertake ad hoc project work to support the Schools and Professional Service Divisions to achieve technology change initiatives.
You will champion system accessibility considerations when helping business areas assess new technologies to support strategic initiatives.
You will collaborate with the various ITS Divisional teams to ensure the implementation of an effective and aligned IT Service, acting as a liaison for technology related issues or concerns in their business area.
