The University of Sussex is a dynamic, innovative university with a campus based in the South Downs National Park but just a few minutes from the city of Brighton and Hove, and we are looking for an experienced data protection practitioner to join us as an Information Manager.
Creative thinking, intellectual challenge and collaborative working are fundamental to a Sussex education and that is reflected in our workplace too. So this is an exciting chance to join the Information Management and Compliance team, working with and influencing senior staff across the University, and with a genuine opportunity for development.
In conjunction with the Head of Information Management and Compliance, the Information Manager will provide effective oversight of data protection and privacy compliance at the University. The role will be busy and varied, and will require proactive and collaborative working with a range of stakeholders.
Experience in the Higher Education sector is not a requirement – instead we are looking for candidates with detailed knowledge and experience in data protection and privacy, with excellent organisational skills, who are able to engage positively with a range of stakeholders and produce high quality written work.
This is an excellent opportunity to bring a range of skills and experience to bear at a time of exciting change in the legislative environment, at one of the UK’s highly ranked universities.
If you would like to discuss the role in further detail, please contact Alexandra Elliott, Head of Information Management and Compliance at Alex.Elliott@sussex.ac.uk or on 01273 678472.
Your application should demonstrate how you meet the Person Specification, set out in section 4.
