Housing Services would like to recruit a Housing Officer (Student Pad) to share responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of the University’s Student Pad property advertisement service. Duties will include promoting, inspecting, expanding and coordinating the operation to provide a quality student experience.
The Housing Services department is busy, so the post-holder will need to handle a variety of tasks simultaneously, remain calm, be reliable and demonstrate excellent time management skills. You will be supported by a dedicated and friendly team.
The role-holder will work closely with the other part-time Student Pad Housing Officer to deliver a coordinated package to our customers, including giving advice and working with student services colleagues to look after our students and landlords.
Duties will also involve helping to advise our students living in the private rented sector and operating the University’s database of properties, Sussex Student Pad, following training and support. You will also take a turn to answer enquiries related to University managed accommodation and student housing in the service email, by telephone, in person and over video advice appointment.
You will have an eye for detail, especially when checking that properties meet national certification around gas safety, electricity safety and energy performance etc. and welcome the opportunity to learn new skills and try new ideas in a team that values your contributions and looks forward to helping you develop your career.
The post holder will join the service at an exciting time for student accommodation at Sussex, as we continue to expand our housing portfolio on campus and develop our support and services for students living in the city.
