Housing Services is a recently accredited Investor In People department at the University of Sussex and the four teams that make up the service care very much about the student housing experience in the same way that each team member cares about each other.
We are enhancing our capabilities to help more of our customers (students, applicants, landlords, parents, agents, members of the local community and others).
Housing Services are looking to recruit a Homestay Housing Officer to work on a job share basis to share responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of the University’s homestay and lodgings programme.
Duties will include promoting, inspecting, expanding and coordinating the operation to provide a quality student experience.
The role-holder will work closely with the other part-time Homestay Housing Officer to deliver a coordinated package to our customers, including giving advice and working with student services colleagues to look after our students and landlords.
Duties will also involve helping to resolve feedback about our students in the local community and operating the University’s database of properties, Sussex Student Pad, following training and support.
You will have an eye for detail, especially when checking that properties meet national certification around gas safety, electricity safety and energy performance etc. and welcome the opportunity to learn new skills and try new ideas in a team that values your contributions and looks forward to helping you develop your career.
The post holder will join the service at an exciting time for student accommodation at Sussex, as we continue expand our housing portfolio from 5,500 bed-spaces to 7,500 by 2020 and remain one of the largest, accessible and professional University housing teams in the UK.
