Job description

The University has an exciting new opportunity for a Deputy Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Research) to assist the Vice-Chancellor and the Director of Research and Enterprise Services in developing the University’s research strengths and implementing our research strategy.

You will provide research leadership and work closely with the DPVC (REF) to ensure that the University enhances our research reputation, raises research grant income and supports excellence in research and scholarship.   There will be an opportunity to frame the role in consultation with the Vice Chancellor and other UEG members.

You will have a track record of research and research leadership and excellent interpersonal skills. Experience of building relationships with key funders will be important as will experience of working with senior Professional Services staff to drive change and deliver positive outcomes.

The appointment will be on a 0.5FTE basis and will be combined with an existing academic post.
