Job description 

We are seeking two Delivery and Development Managers (one based at the University of Brighton and one based at The University of Sussex) for the exciting new STEP-UP (SMEs Transformation Engagement Programme Universities Partnership) project which is being run in partnership between the two institutions and is funded by the European Social Fund. 

STEP-UP is a new project which will bridge the gap between the supply of graduates with high-level skills, and the demand for workforce-ready employees required by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). 

The Delivery and Development Manager (STEP-UP) posts will form part of the project management team and will be responsible for the operational management of the project. If successful, you will be responsible for the creation of processes and systems, which will assist in the successful delivery of the project. You will also be responsible for undertaking needs assessments with SMEs to identify potential areas of business growth, as well as designing and delivering employability workshops with graduates and final-year students before they are placed within a SME to undertake a paid internship. You will also lead in the delivery of the marketing strategy for the STEP-UP project. 

As the successful candidate, you will have strong communication skills and knowledge of SME business development. You will also have an awareness of the barriers and challenges faced by graduates seeking internship and employment opportunities; with a proven ability to develop and deliver initiatives to overcome these. You will have experience of networking effectively with a variety of stakeholders and be able to work well in a team to meet project targets. 

You will be managed centrally through the University of Brighton and you will be given the opportunity to express a preference to be considered for the post at either one of the institutions or both institutions at the point of application.
