Job description
We are seeking to appoint a Data Manager with statistical skills to join the Sussex Health Outcomes Research and Education in Cancer (SHORE-C) unit at the University of Sussex.
The appointee would be working in a dynamic multidisciplinary team with cancer psychologists, and Clinical Trial Coordinators. Applicants are expected to have an MSc or equivalent qualification in information systems, statistics or related discipline. Experience working in any oncology, research or healthcare setting would be a distinct advantage.
The successful candidate will have detailed understanding and knowledge of database management, as well as experience in using specialized software, such as Access, Excel, HTML, PHP and MySQL. They should also be able to manipulate data in SPSS for basic analysis and have meticulous data entry skills. Some experience of analysing systems and developing apps is desirable.
Applicants must have good interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate database concepts to non-experts, including clinicians. They would report to the Deputy Director and Director of SHORE-C.
