Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Business School at the University of Sussex, for a Senior Curriculum & Assessment Officer. If you have experience of working within higher education or are an experienced administrator, enjoy handling data, are adept at interpreting and applying policy and are looking for a new role in a vibrant and supportive team, then consider applying for this position.

Your knowledge and experience will help to inform decision making at a senior level on matters regarding student progression and the shaping of School policies & strategy. The role holder is expected to develop an in-depth knowledge of University, School & external policies and regulations to provide guidance to the Associate Dean for Education & Students, the Directors of Teaching and Learning, Academics, Senior Management within the school and Professional Services colleagues.

The Business School accounts for the largest student population within the University and comprises of 5 departments with both standard and non-standard courses including UG & PG plus MBA and Online Distance Learning courses, making this a varied and impactful role. A proportion of our courses are subject to Professional Statutory Regulatory Bodies accreditations and the individual in this role supports the School's efforts with regards to both course and School level accreditations.  The role performs a key function in upholding compliance and quality assurance across the breadth of the School's portfolio in accordance with both internal & external regulatory bodies.

The role holder will be confident in their knowledge in order to make urgent and quick decisions which impact on students. The role also presents a fantastic opportunity to develop your management skills, supporting more junior team members.
